You learn to draw and illustrate mainly by practicing and experimenting a lot. Do you want to gain extra practical experience during your home study? Then do an internship at an experienced Illustrator of Children's Books or at a children's book publisher. This way you gather valuable work experience and get to know new people within the sector. Handy for later, because an internship is the ideal springboard to a great career as a professional Illustrator of Children's Books.

You can choose the period, place and duration of the internship yourself. Have you found an educational internship? Then request an internship agreement from your training consultant. Complete this document together with your internship provider and return it to us. You can then start immediately, with a maximum of 300 internship hours. Make sure you have completed everything before obtaining your diploma. You are of course not required to do an internship.

You can do this on one of our secretariats or simply online by filling in the registration form and make a payment .

When will my registration be final?

Your registration is final when you have registered and we have received a payment. You will receive a confirmation email from us with all practical information such as the log-in for the student platform.

What if I have a question about the subject matter while studying my home course?

You will receive guidance from an experienced teacher for a year, this is included in the course fee. Via a student platform you can ask your teacher questions, make exercises and submit tasks. This guidance can be extended if you wish.

What do I get sent home?

What will change in September 2018 if I want to become self-employed?

From September 2018 you no longer have to take an exam at the Central Examination Board in Brussels to obtain an official Business Management certificate. So this is a big advantage; you can simply obtain the diploma at our school. Knowledge of business management gives you a big lead over your competitors in the development of your business or independent activity. To customers, this is a true proof of quality.

Where and when do I take the exam?

After studying your course, you take the Illustrating Children's Books exam at one of our exam locations. If you have achieved at least 60%, then you have passed and you will receive the diploma Illustrating Children's Books by post.
