Online shopping has noticeably exploded in the past few months. With Black Friday just around the corner, let’s talk about E-commerce and the benefits a career in online shopping can bring you.

Buying and selling goods online has become incredibly common. Online shopping was pretty popular before the lockdowns – and they’ve just taken it to the next level. At this point, e-commerce is more popular than ever, and it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. We’re connected all the time, we can go online whenever we want – and 5G is going to make it even easier. With technology quickly evolving, the sky is the limit.

It’s more flexible:

No more wandering around a labyrinth of shelves, trying to find the right aisle. Entire store selections, complete with side-by-side comparisons and customer reviews are just a click away. There’s no travel time to the store and no waiting in line at checkout. With all of that in mind, it’s hardly a surprise that people prefer shopping during their lunchbreak or at night, when the kids are sleeping – especially if they’ve had a busy day.

A booming market:

In 2019, global e-commerce sales amounted to 3,53 trillion US dollars, with retail e-commerce revenue being projected to grow to 6,54 trillion US dollars in 2022. Online shopping is a huge market that just keeps growing. It’s also an opportunity to reach a wider audience.

Open 24 hours a day

Unlike a brick and mortar store, websites don’t have working hours. People would be able to come spend their money at your web store 24/7 – and your sales numbers will quickly reflect that.

Use of social media and SEO

Social media is an excellent way to reach your target audience. Never in the past was it this easy to advertise, put your product out there and closely monitor the results. You have an unique opportunity to constantly revisit and improve your advertising strategy for a limited investment. Good SEO practices will let you increase traffic to your site and be at the top of search engine results. It’s easier said than done, of course, but it can be done. You can draw attention to your site and your brand.
